Book 2 Revisions are Live! Also, paperbacks of Book 1 & 2!

Hello, Chaos series fans!

Just to let you know, revisions to Book 2 are now live!  You should be able to find them on your favorite platform in the coming days, but they should be available on Smashwords and Amazon right now!

Also, paperbacks for Book 1 & 2 will also be available when Amazon's review process is complete!  Once the edits to Book 3 are done, and a small edit to Book 4, both of those will be released as paperbacks as well.

After this post, I'll be putting up a poll about the pricing of the series, just so I can get some feedback.

Book 5 Update, Book 2 Revisions, and Paperback Copies!

Hello, Chaos series fans!

This post serves three purposes: an update on the status of Book 5, revisions to Book 2, and paperback copies.

BOOK 5 STATUS

Book 5 has been delayed due to a new job with leaves me wiped out.  I also realized that a number of things needed to be rewritten in it.  Thus, I'm pushing it off until the end of October for a release.  I think it's a spectacular book, so I hope you're anticipating it!

BOOK 2 REVISION

Revisions to Book 2 will be coming in the next day or two.  The revisions amount to a little more text, as well as correction of typos and grammar.  None of the revisions affect the story.  Right now, the Smashwords edition has been successfully uploaded, and is available as you read this, but will take a little while for the Smashwords distributors to get their updates.

The Amazon version will be available in the next day or so.

PAPERBACK COPIES

The paperback copies of Books 1 and 2 will be available within the next day or so.  I still need to finish revisions of Book 3, a very small edit of Book 4, and then continue with Book 5.

Book 1 Revisions Will Be Live Within the Next 72 Hours!

Hello, Chaos series fans!

Revisions to Book 1, A New World, will be live on Smashwords and Amazon within the next 72 hours; both sites are currently going through the approval process.  Smashwords partners should be getting the revisions when they are pushed out as part of Smashwords's schedule.

Once again, the revisions correct some grammar, typos, and change a few lines to make them flow a little better, but in no way change the story.  Also included in the revisions is the new cover format.

If you haven't gone back and read the first book in a while, they give it a look over; you might be able to see the revisions if you look hard enough . . .

Hello, Chaos series fans!  I have some updates for you!

REVISIONS INCOMING!

I am currently revising the first three books, and I want to let you know that revisions to Book 1: A New World will be coming out some time later this week, in eBook format, and will feature the new cover format, like Book 4.  I am also working on the revisions of Book 2: Settling In.

These revisions fix some minor things, mostly being grammatical and punctuation typos, but also altering some words in dialogue to flow (?) a little better.  Dialogue is still one of my weak points when writing, but I feel I'm getting better with each release.  The revisions also correct a congruity error earlier in the book, as well as change some objects in at least two scenes.

What I want to make clear is that this revisions DON'T affect the plot; rather, they're just to help things along.  So, if you've read the first book already, they are, technically, only corrections.

THE CHAOS SERIES . . . IN PRINT!

Some prospective customers may like their books in print, rather than reading an eBook, so I have been working on finalizing the print versions of Books 1 through 4.  These will be in trade paperback format (6 in. x 9 in.), and will incorporate the revisions, with the new cover format as well.

The print books will be made available once I have completed the revisions of the first three books.  I will be releasing them all at once for purchase on Amazon, and possibly on Lulu, though I will make substantially less profit at the latter.

THE CHAOS SERIES . . . AUDIO BOOK?

In a tweet a while ago, I was mulling over the prospect of audio books of the series, or at least the first book.  I think I had done some recording about a year ago, but due to other factors that was put on hold.  In hindsight, this might have been a good thing, so that I can incorporate all of the revisions for the new version.

Should I make the first audio book, I would probably release it in weekly chapters on YouTube so that everyone can sample my wonderfully masculine voice.

 A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Ups & Downs will be released on November 1, 2020!

In a previous post, I wrote that it would be released towards the end of October, near Halloween.  I had to do some additional work on the book, so I just decided to release it at the beginning of November, to start the month off right.

Wow. That was fast...

Surprisingly, the proof copy of Ups & Downs arrived today.  My order form listed an arrival date of October 1, 2020.  Not that I'm complaining.

It's strange to see the series in a larger format paperback, but that's fine.  I have to admit, I like the feel of the texture of the matte cover.

At any rate, I'm hard at work doing the editing on the final draft.  Here's hoping that it goes smoothly.

Book 4 is still in the making, and the first draft is nearly complete, now that my writer's block has disappeared.

Also, I've been writing additional material for it, since the aforementioned block is gone.  It just keeps going and going.

"Ups and Downs" is a heavy character-development book for Ken and Company, so I'm sure those who want to read a little more into their minds will like it.

The first draft of book four is about 88% complete.  The last hurdle has been slow going, due to adjustments at work, taking a new college course, and just plain old being tired.  There are also passages that need to be re-written because I'm not fully satisfied with them.

I'm shooting for the end of February for a release date.

I haven't completely decided on a subtitled, but I'm leaning toward Truth and Consequences.  That may change if I get a better idea.

The covers for books one and two will change to suit the new format of book three.

Things still remaining to do:

• Commissioning the cover.
• The usual planet guide.
• At least two recipes.
• At least two interludes.

I didn't realize I hadn't updated the blog in over half a year.  Sigh . . .

Anyway, the first draft of book four in the Chaos series is 50% complete.  I still have yet to come up with a subtitle for it.  Right now, the series is in the Truth and Consequences story arc.

Some questions that will be answered include:

• Are any members of any tenants'families going to come to visit?
• Is there a conference for landlords?
• Is Ken going to officially be dubbed a knight of Kisstil?  Will he get to visit Matrona's planet?
• What is Matrona's space-time manipulation "specialty?"
• What is Alisa building in her garage?  And what's more, will we see it in action?
• Re-contracting is coming up.  Will that mean a shakeup in the number of tenants?  Will the tenants want to re-contract, considering what is going on?
• If something big concerning a battle appears and the tenants are involved and injured, how will he really react?
• If Silver is Ken's teacher, does that mean Silver also has a teacher?

In other words, the usual dose of chaos.

Memory Lane is now on sale, and has been via Smashwords since January 1st.  I was notified about Premium Distribution earlier today, so it should be making its way to Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo and the like soon.

It's also available on Amazon, and Lulu.  I will be trying to open up an account on Drivethrufiction this weekend, but since I'm in the midst of a cold, we'll have to see.

I also have to re-do the covers for books one and two, to match the format of book three's cover.  The print version will be forthcoming, when I format the cover correctly.

It's better if I see it in print to do the final editing.  Then I'll do the eBook version.

The fourth draft is almost completed.

There are a couple if items that I needed to clear up, such as some character descriptions, and some exposition.

The cover will also change from what was shown before.

I'm also thinking of doing a little release event, maybe on Twitch.  For it, I was considering playing some retro games while answering some questions, etc.

The third draft is almost finished.  A couple of more drafts, and it should be done.  Hopefully.  Possibly.  Potentially.

I wanted to get book three out a lot earlier, but things have been challenging lately.  I realized the last book was out in March of 2014, and I was a little shocked at myself for taking so long to get to this point.

To make up for it a little, have a look at the preliminary cover for the third book, featuring Angelica.  It features a far less plain cover than the previous ones, which I will probably convert to at the same time as releasing book three, or a little later.

I'm also going to try and get the series on DriveThruFiction.com.  Currently, it's on Smashwords.com, Kobobooks.com, Nook.com, Lulu.com, BarnesAndNoble.com, iTunes.Apple.com, Amazon.com, and many of Smashword's distributors in other markets.

First Draft

The first draft of book three is about 90% complete. I need to finish up one chapter, do the regular planetary description, translate two recipes, and the first draft should be complete. Oh, and commission the cover.

During my writing adventures, I've found that the story is starting to take on a life of its own. Characters that I had never even thought of would show themselves, and insert themselves into the tale. Perhaps it's my own subconscious saying, "Hey! This book is too short!" and indelibly put pen to paper with said characters in it. Yes, I still do it the old fashioned way first (by pen/pencil in a notebook), then put it down electronically.

I hope to have the whole book done and ready by Christmas. I'd like the book will be out by Thanksgiving, but that would be a massive miracle. Also, I will have to do a revised version of the first two books. Just a few grammatical and formatting tweeks; nothing that changes the story.

Thanks to my readers who have been patiently waiting for the third book. I hope it won't disappoint.

Book three in the Chaos series is about 75% complete.  I've also decided on the subtitle: Memory Lane.

After the first draft is finished, I'll have to commission the artwork for the cover, go through successive drafts, and then do the layout for the print and eBook versions.  I'm shooting for a release at the end of September, or early October.

Notable events happening in this book:

• A few new characters;
• An intergalactic pop star;
• We get to see a little bit into Silver's head;
• We pretty much find out what the overall goal of the villains are, and how they want to accomplish it;
• Ken gets really ill;
• There will be a major shakeup in the household;

In other words, the usual dose of Chaos.
