The Chaos Series Contest!
Now that Settling In has been released, I'd like your help, since the Chaos series can only succeed with help!
Therefore, I'm doing a contest, and the rules are rather simple.
If you've read through the first and/or second books, please leave a review on the site you received it from. Make sure you leave an identifiable name (reasons below). Above all, I want you to give a truthful review (though praising the book never hurts).
Once you have left a review, send me an e-mail (address available at my website) with the link of the review, the identifiable name you wrote it under, your real name, and mailing address. No, your mailing address won't be shared (make sure you have your parent's permission if you're under the age if 18).
Why am I collecting addresses? At the end of January 2014, I will pick a name at random to send a hardcover version of one of the first two books in the Chaos series (when available) to that winner. I'm thinking about sending a softcover to another winner, but I'll have to consider that.
Also, I may be sending out some goodies (bookmarks, etc) on an irregular basis to those who I have an address on file for. Who knows? You may even get a pre-press copy of a future book in the mail!
A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Settling In -- Now Available!
The second book in the Chaos series is now available on Smashwords.com!
Click here to be taken to the book's page!
Truthfully, I wanted to do a cover with one of the tenants, but I found out my artistic skills need a lot of work, so I decided to go with the abstract cover, like the first book.
The price is $2.99. However! I have a coupon for you!
MD75D
Enter the above coupon during checkout and get it for 50% off! That's right! For only $1.50.
The coupon ends at midnight on December 31, 2013 (which makes it January 1, 2014), so act now while you can!

A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Settling In -- Progress Report #4
Due to various other things going on in my life at the current time, it doesn't look like the book will be released until after Thanksgiving. I'm shooting for this Friday, the 29th.
I wanted to get the fifth draft finished during the previous weekend, but couldn't. I'll finish the fifth draft within the next day or so, then do a sixth draft, which will probably just be a read-through, since most of the issues have been taken care of. Then I'll attempt to do a good piece for the cover, of one of the tenants.
It will be on Smashwords first, and then their distribution will take care of sending it to Barnes and Noble, iTunes, etc. I'll have a coupon on Smashwords as well. The print versions will be available on Lulu, as usual.
Also, when released, I will have a contest concerning the series, related to getting the word out with reviews of the first two books in the series.
I hope you're anticipating reading the book as much as I am trying to get it released!

A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Settling In -- Progress Report #3
The fourth draft (the third draft was completed when review a test copy of the printed version) is approximately 75% done. I'm pretty much "on schedule" for a late November release of at least the eBook version. The print version will probably take a little while longer.
I want to try and draw a cover with one of the characters to give the book a little more impact. This also means I would have to go back and do a cover for the first book as well.

A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Settling In -- Progress Report #2
Well, I'm finished with the second draft. I've ordered a test copy of the paperback to serve as draft three, and to add as needed.
At this rate, the book is going to be shorter than the first book, but I want to make it isn't far too short. That's why I need to see it in print for the sake of visual representation.
I'm going to have to move back my estimation for release to late November, as an October release would be very difficult. I'm been kicking the eBook price around in my head, and it's probably going to be between $2.00 and $2.50.

A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos: Settling In -- Progress Report
I'm about 42% completed with the second draft of book two in the Chaos series. I'm hopeful I'll be able to get it out by the end of October, but as I look at it, it may be the November time frame before it gets released in softback, hardback and eBook formats.
When book two is released, I plan to do another edit of book one, along with a new cover, and add a hardback edition.

A (Not So) Healthy Dose of Chaos, Book 2: Settling In
I finished the first draft of book two in the Chaos series, titled Settling In, on Sunday, and am currently working on the second draft.
I'm thinking it will take about six drafts, just like the first book. The first draft runs approximately 160 pages, and if I want it to reach the 275 page mark of the first book, I've got a number of things to flesh out and embellish.
Some things coming up in book two...

Some things coming up in book two...
- You find out what's going on with Matilda
- Ken runs into another manipulator from an organization
- Ken's sister shows up, and it's not pretty
- The "First Enemies" arc is closed up in this book
- Christmas and Santa Claus!
- Ominous clouds on the horizon
- ...and, of course, two more recipes!

Feather/Phantasms (v2013.07.01)
"My dear Anne.
I am going to to the home we discussed some time ago, up in the mountains.
The locals there consider it a haunted house. Years ago, the household went through several tragedies.
One day, everyone ended up dead.
It was rumored that the head of the household went insane, then killed all remaining members of the house, along with himself.
I feel drawn to the residence to find out what really happened. Something tells me we don't have the whole story.
I hope to have a tale of a grand adventure for you the next time we meet.
Until then, may angels watch over you.
Your Uncle."

Your Uncle."
So goes the last letter that Anne received from her uncle, a noted supernatural investigator. Twenty-year old Anne followed in his footsteps, also becoming an investigator.
It has been three weeks since she last heard from him, with no other leads to where he might be. Taking up her collection of angel feathers, she makes her way to the house that she fears her uncle is trapped in, hoping for the best . . . but preparing for the worst.
Overview
Feather/Phantasms is a mystery-horror game, with RPG-elements. Anne will fight enemies, and in standard RPG fare, her abilities will grow as she progresses through the story, finding out where her uncle is, and what really happened in the manor in the mountains.
Unique to this game is Anne's use of feathers to combat enemies, as physical attacks will do very little to the supernatural creatures she will encounter.
This game was made for the somewhat casual player: it is not very long or complicated, and can be completed in an afternoon. During her investigation, Anne will find journals that give bits and pieces of what happened in the manor, and the final fate of the household.
Additional features include a second playthrough (Extra Game), which includes additional enemies, an additional boss, costumes, and achievements.
Creator Comments
Made almost entirely in RTP for the sake of size, the game is 99% complete: that last remaining 1% is this test release. It needs playthroughs by testers to point out any glaring errors or bugs. I hope you will be kind with any comments.
I hope you enjoy playing through it!

You must have RPT VX (not RPT VX Ace) installed on your system in order to play the game. If you do not have it (or are not sure), please download it from the following link (from the official RPG Maker website)

Wow. I'm quoted/referenced on Youtube.
I barely remember any of this event happening. It certainly is nostalgic, though . . .

The eBook for A New World is available at Smashwords, right here! And it's for free!
I don't think 247 downloads in about a month is bad, especially for a no-name author!
